Background Information[]
Mighty Mo is a fictional salvage crane created by David Mitton and Robert D. Cardona. He first appeared in Sunshine, the first episode of TUGS, and continued to appear for the rest of the series until his last appearance in Up River.
Behind the Scenes[]
Mighty Mo's model was scratch built with fiberglass. His base was made of processed wood to hide his crane mechanics as fiberglass proved to be too heavy. His megaphones were custom pen and plastic and were held in place with sticky tack. String was used to help raise his boom and lift things out of the water.
After production on TUGS ended, Mighty Mo's model was put into storage at Shepperton Studios. The location of his model or what became of it is unknown.
